How to use Lawn and Garden Prep

Artesia Lawn and Garden Prep has been formulated to increase moisture retention, improve soil aeration, and make cultivation easier, and promoting healthy plant growth.

USE DIRECTIONS

1. New Lawns and Sod

Spread out the contents of one bag from 3/4 inch to 1-1/2 inches thick. Rototill into the soil to a depth of 2-3 inches. Smooth the surface. Lay in the sod or sprinkle on the grass seed. After seeding cover the seeds with Artesia Lawn and Garden Prep as directed on the seed package. This will give the seed an excellent environment for germination and growth. Water generously.

2. Garden and flower beds

Spread Artesia Lawn and Garden Prep approximately 21/2 inches deep and rototill or hand mix to a depth of 5 inches. This will create a 50/50 ratio with the existent native soil. Plant seeds following directions on the seed package. If transferring plants for containers, dig a small hole just slightly larger than the plant’s root ball with attached soil. Place the plant in the hole and pack the soil around the plant firmly. Water throughly.

3.  Trees and Bushes

Dig a hole twice the diameter, and about 3 inches deeper than the size of the pot containing the tree or bush. Fill in the bottom of the hole so that the root system will sit 1 or 2 inches below the surface level. Fill in the remaining space with a 50/50 mixture of existent native soil and Artesia Lawn and Garden Prep
