Artesia Playground Chips® are designed to serve as a safety surface when filled to the recommended depth under playground equipment. Our Playground Chips have been tested and have passed the ASTM F-1292-93 f-355-86 procedure C test. (Standard Specification for Impact Attenuation of Surface Systems Under and Around Playground Equipment)and F-355-95, procedure C (impact attenuation) and 16CFR 1500.44 (flammability). Also meets or exceeds the California public playground standards requirements for wheelchair accessibility ASTM F 1951.
Artesia Playground Chips® have been classified as flame resistant using the method described in 16 CFR 1500.44 of the Federal Hazardous substances act for rigid and pliable solids. NOTE: these chips are designed to ease a fall. They do not guarantee complete safety or protection from falls.
Artesia Playground Chips® are attractive when used as a ground cover on flower beds and on pathways.
Artesia Playground Chips® can also be used as superior surface for horseback riding arenas.
Certified Playground Chips
Directions: spread Artesia Playground Chips® evenly under playground equipment to a depth of 15.5 inches. This will yield approximately 12 inches of chips after they are compacted. (Click the following link to calculate how much do you need to buy.)
Species: California conifers. We use clean pure wood in our Certified Playground Chips that does not emit natural toxins, and there are no chemical additives or recycled by-products used.
